Well, boy were we in for an interesting summer with my mom and dad. Dad is recovering well from his knee surgery, but my mom's knee gave out on her. And as the Doctor put it, "Your knee is not going to get better, you need to have the same surgery that your husband just had."
So on June 27th, my mom went in for a total knee replacement (knowing full well what she was going to have to go through after just helping my dad with it all). So there weren't any surprises for her and she was a real trooper to say the least.
She is doing great and got on track after a week. Her blood pressure kept going so low that she had to have a blood transfusion with two pints of blood. After that she was like a new woman. To every ones amazement, she got off the pain medication and has been taking just Tylenol.

At times, life's path
seems filled with things
that make the going rough,
And we wish there were
a smoother road,
for we feel we've had enough...
But, if we pause a moment
and remember Who's in charge,
The hills that loom ahead of us
no longer seem so large,
And every rock before us,
when we know we're not alone,
Becomes not just a stumbling block
but one more stepping stone.
